Beer et al’s Mechanics of Materials 7th edition (PDF) is the uncontested leader for the teaching of solid mechanics. Used by thousands of university students around the world since publication, Mechanics of Materials 7e provides a precise presentation of the subject illustrated with numerous engineering examples that college students both understand and relate to application and theory. The true and tried methodology for presenting material gives mechanics students the best opportunity to succeed in this course. From the detailed real examples to the homework problems, to the carefully developed solutions manual (included in this purchase), students and instructors can be confident the material is clearly explained and accurately represented.

McGraw-Hill Education’s Connect (sold separately), is also available as an optional, add-on item. Connect is the only integrated learning system that empowers math students by continuously adapting to deliver precisely what they need, how they need it, when they need it, so that class time is more effective. Connect allows the professor to assign quizzes, homework, and tests easily and automatically records and grades the scores of the student’s work. Problems are randomized to prevent sharing of answers and may also have a “multi-step solution” which helps move the students’ learning along if they experience difficulty.
