Mary A. Coulter

Dr. Mary A. Coulter (Ph.D., University of Arkansas) held different jobs including legal assistant, high school teacher, and city government program planner before completing her graduate work. Mary has taught at the University of Arkansas, Drury University, Trinity University, and Missouri State University. She is currently a professor emeritus of management at Missouri State University. In addition to Fundamentals of Management, Coulter has published other ebooks with Pearson including Strategic Management in Action, Management (with Stephen P. Robbins), and Entrepreneurship in Action.

When Mary’s not busy writing, she enjoys puttering around in her flower gardens, reading all different types of books, trying new recipes, and enjoying many different activities with husband Ron, daughters and sons-in-law Katie and Matt, and Sarah and James, and most especially with her two grandkids, Blake and Brooklynn, who are the delights of her life!

Dr. Stephen P. Robbins received his Ph.D. from the University of Arizona. He previously worked for Reynolds Metals Company and Shell Oil Company and has taught at the Concordia University in Montreal, University of Nebraska at Omaha, the University of Baltimore, Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, and San Diego State University. He is currently professor emeritus in management at San Diego State.

Stephen’s research interests have focused on power, conflict, and politics in organizations, behavioral decision making, and the development of effective interpersonal skills. His articles on these and other topics have appeared in such journals as California Management Review, Business Horizons, International Management, Management Review, Business and Economic Perspectives, Canadian Personnel and Industrial Relations, and The Journal of Management Education.

Professor Robbins is the author of world’s best-selling textbooks in areas of management and organizational behavior. His books have sold more than 8 million copies and have been translated into more than 20 languages.
