Karen Whalen

Dr. Karen Whalen earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree with highest honors from the University of Florida. She completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at Moses Cone Health System and a Primary Care Residency at James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital. Dr. Whalen was a faculty member at Nova Southeastern University for 12 years, receiving the Golden Apple Award for Teaching Excellence eight times. In 2008, she joined the University of Florida College of Pharmacy and has held various administrative roles. Currently, she is the Associate Dean for Professional Advancement & Assessment and a Clinical Professor. Dr. Whalen is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist with experience in ambulatory care. She is active in pharmacy organizations and has received several awards, including the National Community Pharmacists Association Pharmacy Leadership Award.
