About The Author

Geralyn Frandsen

Geralyn Frandsen

Dr. Geralyn Frandsen is the director of the undergraduate nursing program at Maryville University. She has considerable experience with patients at all stages of life, from paediatrics to the elderly and end-of-life care, over the course of her career. Professor Frandsen worked as a nurse at the Visiting Nurse Association of Greater St. Louis for a decade before earning her doctorate in higher education from Saint Louis University, where her research focused on mentorship.

She has a master's degree in community health nursing and nursing education, and she is still working on building the finest mentoring strategies for nursing teachers and students. Dr. Frandsen is also the co-author of Abrams' Clinical Drug Therapy: Rationales for Nursing Practice, a pharmacology textbook along with Kozier & Erb's Fundamentals of Nursing series.
