About The Author
David King
Dr. David King has taught courses in personality, health psychology, and the psychology of death and dying at University of British Columbia's (UBC) Department of Psychology in Canada
His current study focuses on how stress manifests itself in social contexts of various sizes and complexity, ranging from dyads and families to larger social and cultural contexts (e.g., disease outbreaks, collective traumas). Socioeconomic aspects in health, the influence of stigma and prejudice on well-being, and the function of meaning in trauma are among her other academic interests. He is also the co-author of two undergraduate textbooks, in addition to numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals.
David is dedicated to advancing critical thought and dialogue on the intricacies of human nature, whether through teaching, writing, or research.
Dursun Delen
Dr. Dursun Delen is a globally recognized business analytics, data science, and machine learning expert. He is frequently invited to give keynote presentations at national and international conferences on data/text mining, business intelligence, decision support systems, business analytics, data science, and knowledge management.
Before being appointed as a professor at Oklahoma State University in 2001, Dr. Delen worked in the industry for more than ten years, developing and delivering business analytics solutions to businesses. His most recent industrial work was at Knowledge Based Systems, Inc. (KBSI), a privately-owned research and consulting firm in College Station, Texas, where he was a research scientist. Dr. Delen led several projects related to decision support systems, enterprise engineering, information systems development, and advanced business analytics during his five years at KBSI. These projects were funded by private industry and federal agencies, including several branches of the Department of Defense, NASA, the National Science Foundation, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and the Department of Energy.
In addition to his academic pursuits, Dr. Delen now provides professional education and consulting services to businesses in assessing their analytics, data science, and information system needs and in developing state-of-the-art computerized decision support systems.
Efraim Turban
Dr. Efraim Turban (MBA, Ph.D.) is a visiting scholar at the Pacific Institute for Information System Management, University of Hawaii. Before this, he was on the staff of several universities, including the City University of Hong Kong; Florida International University; California State University, Long Beach; Lehigh University; Eastern Illinois University; and the University of Southern California.
Dr. Turban is the author of more than 110 refereed papers published in leading journals such as Management Science, MIS Quarterly, and Decision Support Systems. He also authorized over 20 books. He is a consultant to major corporations worldwide. His current areas of interest are web-based decision support systems, digital commerce, and applied artificial intelligence.
Ramesh Sharda
Dr. Ramesh Sharda (MBA, Ph.D.) is Vice Dean for Research and Graduate Programs, Watson/ConocoPhillips Chair, and Regents Professor of Management Science and Information Systems in the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University. His research has been published in significant management science and information systems journals, including Operations Research, Information Systems Research, Management Science, Decision Support Systems, Decision Sciences Journal, EJIS, JMIS, Interfaces, INFORMS Journal on Computing, and ACM Database.
Dr. Sharda got the 2013 INFORMS Computing Society HG Lifetime Service Award and was inducted into the Oklahoma Higher Education Hall of Fame in 2016.
