In this capacity, he is responsible for the University's academic goals and programmes, as well as supporting and enhancing research, teaching, and creative work across the College, graduate, and professional schools.

Kersh was associate dean of NYU's Wagner School of Public Service and a professor of public policy before coming to WFU. The past two years have been anything but “politics as usual” in the United States. By The People 3rd Edition brief (PDF) reflects the dynamism of American government and politics with new learning and teaching tools that prepare students to THINK, ENGAGE, and DEBATE now more than ever before.

In a nice storytelling approach that weaves contemporary examples together with historical context, By the People: Debating American Government 3rd edition brief (PDF), explores the ideas and themes that drive the great debates in American politics and government. It introduces college students to big questions like How does our system of government work? Who governs? What does government do? and Who are we? By challenging the students with these questions, the textbook gets them to engage with, think about, and debate the merits of U.S. government and politics.
