April Hazard Vallerand

April Hazard Vallerand holds a B.S.N. from Mount St. Mary’s College, M.S.N. from California State University, and Ph.D. in nursing from the University of Pennsylvania, where she also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Psychosocial Oncology. As the College of Nursing Alumni Endowed Professor at Wayne State University, her research investigates factors affecting functional status and barriers to effective pain management. Her current National Cancer Institute-funded project aims to improve functional status in African Americans with cancer pain. Dr. Vallerand is a recognized leader in nursing, with extensive publications on pain management, including chronic pain, cancer pain management, pain disparities, and self-treatment.

Cynthia A. Sanoski, PharmD, BCPS, FCCP, is the Associate Dean of Student Affairs at the University of Iowa and a Professor in Pharmacy Practice and Science. Education includes the AACP Academic Leadership Fellows Program, a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Illinois, a PharmD from Ohio State, and a BS in Pharmacy from Duquesne. Certifications: PC Diabetes Care, Basic Life Support, Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery, and BCPS. Licenses: PA and OH Pharmacist, Injectables License.
