Jeanette Lancaster

Dr. Jeanette Lancaster, Ph.D., RN, FAAN; Dr. Jeanette Lancaster is widely recognized for her leadership in healthcare scholarship and nursing education.

She previously served as Dean and Sadie Heath Cabaniss Professor of Nursing at the University of Virginia from 1989 until 2008 and retired in 2011. She was also the associate chief nursing officer for the University of Virginia Medical Center.

In recognition of her valuable contributions in securing funding for and overseeing the construction of a new School of Nursing building at the University of Virginia, the street in front of the school was named in her honor: Jeanette Lancaster Way.
