David Bock, Paul Velleman, and Richard De Veaux wrote Intro Stats, 4th Edition, (PDF) with the goal that instructors and students have as much fun reading it as they did writing it. Maintaining a humorous, conversational, and informal writing style, this new edition involves students from the first page. The authors emphasize on statistical thinking throughout the text and depend on technology for calculations. Consequently, students can emphasize on developing their conceptual understanding. Innovative Show/Think/Tell examples give students a problem-solving framework and, more prominently, a way to think through any statistics problem and give their results. New to the 4e Pearson New International is a streamlined presentation that keeps university students attentive on what’s most important while including out helpful features. An updated organization splits chapters into sections, with specific learning objectives to keep students on track. A comprehensive table of contents helps with navigation through this new layout. Single-concept exercises complement the current mid- to hard-level exercises for basic skill development.
