Dr. Derald Wing Sue holds the position of Professor of Psychology and Education in the Department of Counseling and Clinical Psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Oregon and has been a training faculty member with the Institute for Management Studies and the Columbia University Executive Training Programs. Dr. Sue was the Co-Founder and first President of the Asian American Psychological Association, former president of the Society for the Psychological Study of Culture, Ethnicity and Race (Division 45), and the Society of Counseling Psychology (Division 17). He is affiliated with the American Counseling Association, the American Psychological Association as a Fellow, the American Psychological Society, and has previously been a member of the American Association of Applied and Preventive Psychology. His editorial roles have included serving as the Editor of the Personnel and Guidance Journal (now the Journal for Counseling and Development), Associate Editor of the American Psychologist, Editorial Board Member to Asian Journal of Counselling, and working on the Council of Elders for Cultural Diversity and Ethnic Minority Psychology, among others.
