About The Author

Chad J. Zutter

Chad J. Zutter

Dr. Chad J. Zutter is a finance professor and Faculty Fellow at the Katz Graduate School of Business, University of Pittsburgh. He holds a BBA from the University of Texas at Arlington and a PhD from Indiana University. His research has been featured in The Economist and CFO Magazine, cited in US Supreme Court arguments, and consulted by companies like Google and Intel. Zutter received the Jensen Prize for the best paper in the Journal of Financial Economics and awards from the Journal of Corporate Finance, where he is an Associate Editor. He has also won teaching awards at both Kelley School of Business and Katz Graduate School. In addition to teaching, Zutter serves on the board of Lutheran SeniorLife and was previously a submariner in the US Navy. He lives in Pittsburgh with his wife and four children, enjoying horseback riding and skiing in his free time.

Dr. Lawrence J. Gitman is an emeritus professor of finance at San Diego State University. He received his BA from Purdue University, an MBA from the University of Dayton, and a Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati. A prolific author, Professor Gitman has published more than 50 articles appearing in The Financial Review, Financial Management, Journal Of Financial Planning, Journal Of Risk And Insurance, Financial Services Review, Financial Practice And Education, Journal Of Financial Education, Journal Of Financial Research, and other scholarly publications. He has co-authored and authored numerous best-selling textbooks on various finance and business topics as well as investing. An active member of numerous professional organizations, Lawerence is past president of the Academy of Financial Services, the San Diego Chapter of the Financial Executives Institute, the FMA National Honor Society and the Midwest Finance Association, In addition, he is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP).

He formerly served as a director on the CFP Board of Governors,as director of the San Diego MIT Enterprise Forum and as a vice president of Financial Education for the Financial Management Association. Dr. Gitman has 2 children and lives with his wife in California.
