About The Author

Daniel R. Boone

Dr. Daniel R. Boone (late) celebrated over sixty years as a speech-language pathologist with the publishing of the 10th edition of The Voice and Voice Therapy. He held professorships at the University of Kansas Medical Center, University of Denver, Case Western Reserve University, and the University of Arizona, where he is professor emeritus. Professor Boone was a former president of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and held both a Fellowship and the Honors of that organization. He was the author of over 100 publications and was well known internationally and nationally for his many workshop presentations.

Dr. Richard I. Zraick is the Director and a Professor at the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Central Florida. He was awarded the ASHA Fellowship in 2014. He got his doctorate at Arizona State University. He is a teacher-scholar and clinician with over 30 years of experience in clinical practice and academia. Dr. Zraick's scholarship focuses on speech and voice perception, voice disorders, healthcare simulation, interprofessional education, and health communication. He regularly speaks about these topics at regional, state, and national scientific and professional conventions.
Shelley L Von Berg

Shelley L Von Berg

Dr. Shelly L. Von Berg practices, teaches, and researches in the areas of voice, dysphagia, and motor speech disorders in children and adults in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the California State University, Chico, where she holds the rank of Professor. She got her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the School of Medicine at the University of Reno. Dr. Von Berg has presented on the assessment and intervention of neurogenic speech-language disorders nationally and abroad. She has been published in the ASHA Series; Language, Speech, and Hearing Services in Schools; Unmasking Voice Disorders; Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Journal; Current Opinion in Otolaryngology & Head and Neck Surgery; and ACC Journal.
