Elizabeth A. Phelps

Dr. Elizabeth Phelps, who earned her Ph.D. from Princeton University, has held teaching positions at both Yale University and New York University. She has received multiple awards for her contributions to science, including the 21st Century Scientist Award from the James S. McDonnell Foundation, the Distinguished Scholar Award from the Social and Affective Neuroscience Society, and the William James Award from the Association for Psychological Science. Additionally, she has been named a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Society for Experimental Psychology, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Professor Phelps has also served on the Board of Directors for several organizations, including the Association for Psychological Science and the Society for Neuroeconomics. She was also a founding board member of the Society for Neuroethics. She has previously held the role of President for the Society for Neuroeconomics, the Association for Psychological Science, and the Social and Affective Neuroscience Society.

Her research interests span a variety of fields, including emotion, learning, memory, decision-making, cognitive neuroscience, social neuroscience, affective neuroscience, and neuroeconomics.

George R. Mangun

George R. Mangun

Dr. George R. Mangun is Professor of Psychology and Neurology in the Center for Mind and Brain at the University of California, Davis. Mangun received his Ph.D. from the University of California, San Diego. He was the founding director of the Center for Mind and Brain, and also of the Center for Cognitive Neuroscience at Duke University. In 1992, with Michael Gazzaniga and others, Dr. Mangun founded the Cognitive Neuroscience Society.

He serves as an associate editor for the Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience, and is Editor-in-Chief of the series The Neuroscience of Attention, published by OUP. He uses cognitive neuroscience tools in the study of brain attention mechanisms. George is also a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Association for Psychological Science.

Dr. Richard B. Ivry is Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of California, Berkeley. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Oregon (USA). Dr. Ivry's research focuses on the relationship of cognition and action, using the many methods of cognitive neuroscience. Professor Richard is also a senior editor for the Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience and serves on the editorial boards of a number of other journals. Among his many honors, Richard received the Troland Research Award from the National Academy of Sciences in 1997, and was elected a fellow of the Society of Experimental Psychologists in 2003 and the Association for Psychological Science in 2006.
