James R. Hupp

Dr. James R. Hupp is a Professor of Oral-Maxillofacial Surgery at the East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. James, a cum laude graduate of Harvard University’s School of Dental Medicine, remains an advocate for the addition of technological advances in medical schools across the country. He spearheaded the development of the first new public dental school in the United States in the last 15 years, using innovative tools to enhance the learning potential of medical students at East Carolina University.

He has worked as the Dean of the Dental School at the University of Mississippi for over 6 years starting in 2002. In addition to Professor Hupp’s position at schools like the University of Mississippi and Vanderbilt University, he remains a Professor at the School of Dental Medicine and Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. He also teaches students at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill School of Dentistry.

Dr. Myron Tucker, DDS. Scientific and Education Liaison. Professor Tucker got his undergraduate degree from Arizona State University and received his dental degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in 76. He was a full-time faculty member at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry and UNC Hospitals from 1982-1992 where he was the director of graduate education in oral and maxillofacial surgery. He was in private practice in Charlotte, NC. for over 18 years and retired recently.
