Dr. Charles "Carlos" Plummer is a Professor Emeritus, Geology Department at the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in California State University, Sacramento. He did his M.S., and Ph.D. from University of Washington. Plummer retired from teaching in 2003 and still writes and edits textbooks.

Dr. Diane Carlson is a Professor of Geology. She did her B.S. Geology, from the University Wisconsin, Eau Claire, in 1978, her M.S. Geology, from the University of Minnesota, Duluth, in 1981 and her Ph.D. Geology, from the Washington State University, in 1984. Here research and teaching interests include Structural analysis of the Shoo Fly Complex, Kinematic analysis of high strain zones, and Analysis of structurally-controlled rock failures.

Dr. Lisa Hammersley is currently serving as Associate Dean of the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at the Sacramento State University (USA). She is a geochemist and igneous petrologist interested in the magmatic processes that occur beneath volcanoes. Dr. Lisa has studied volcanic systems in Mexico, Ecuador, and Northern California.

Lisa is also deeply committed to broadening participation in STEM and currently serves as the Lead Project Director for CSU-LSAMP, an alliance of all 23 campuses of the CSU system, dedicated to providing support for under-represented minorities and women in STEM disciplines.
