About The Author

Hugh Coolican

Hugh Coolican

Hugh Coolican is the ‘guru’ of A-level and undergraduate Research Methods, as the author of the classic book Research Methods and Statistics in Psychology, which is in its 7th edition. He is in ‘phased retirement’ but cannot quite let go so works two days a week in Coventry, teaching Philosophical Psychology and Research Methods. Hugh is also an Assistant Examiner for the International Baccalaureate.

Owen Kelly

This comprehensive overview, Research Methods in Psychology (PDF) Canadian edition, of research methods uses a lively narrative to guide college students through every stage of a research project, including analyzing data, conducting and planning studies, and reporting results. Integrating fascinating Canadian examples and research with accessible explanations, this is a highly recommended and an engaging primer for students of behavioural studies.

Review

“This is an excellent ebook that balances the need to inform with the need to engage; it provides the necessary information for a foundation in research methods without intimidating college students by presenting the information as complex calculations, formulas or theories.”  — Carolyn Ensley, Wilfrid Laurier University
