About The Author

Joseph W. Glannon

Joseph W. Glannon

Dr. Joseph W. Glannon specializes in public tort liability in Massachusetts and teaches Civil Procedure, Conflict of Laws, and Torts. Civil Procedure: Examples & Explanations, the first book in Wolters Kluwers' Examples & Explanations series, is written by him. This frequently used textbook is currently in its ninth edition. The Law of Torts: Examples & Explanations, now in its sixth edition, is another book he wrote. A renowned Civil Procedure casebook, Civil Procedure: A Coursebook, was coauthored by Professor Glannon, Suffolk's dean Andrew Perlman, and GWU School of Law emeritus professor Peter Raven-Hansen. He is also the author of The Glannon Guide to Civil Procedure, a Civil Procedure review ebook.

With this Civil Procedure: Examples and Explanations, 9th Edition, (ePub/PDF), author Joseph Glannon’s uniquely entertaining style teaches and engages students in all aspects of the first-year Civil Procedure course.

Accessible introductions and explanations combine with a proven pedagogy in the popular Examples & Explanations format that’s effective for learning and applying the fundamental concepts and rules covered in the Civil Procedure course.

New to the Ninth Edition:

  • Updated citations
  • Updated case references
  • Incorporation of recent rule changes
  • A chapter that covers the full range of proper bases for personal jurisdiction
  • The new chapter includes discussion and examples applying the new approach to specific personal jurisdiction recognized by the Supreme Court in Ford Motor Company v. Montana Eight Judicial District Court, decided in 2021

Law books are usually very expensive. I was able to download this (and some others) very cheaply! Works great. Kudos
