Gain the expertise and abilities necessary to thrive as a radiologic technologist! The Textbook of Radiographic Positioning and Related Anatomy, 11th Edition, delivers vital information required to execute numerous radiographic procedures and generate high-quality diagnostic images. Its straightforward guidelines facilitate learning about anatomy and positioning while reducing imaging mistakes. Each positioning page focuses on a single projection, with essential details listed on the left side and positioning photos, anatomical illustrations, along with correctly positioned and exposed radiographic images on the right. Authored by imaging specialists John P. Lampignano and Leslie E. Kendrick, this textbook is also a great resource for preparing for the ARRT® certification exam.

  • Review questions are available on the Evolve website.
  • Considerations for Pediatric, Geriatric, and Bariatric Patients help you meet specific patient needs.
  • Presenting only one projection per page in the Positioning chapters makes the information easy to digest.
  • Evaluation Criteria on positioning pages outline the assessment process that should occur for each radiographic image.
  • Critique images at the conclusion of positioning chapters to assess your grasp of typical positioning and technical mistakes seen in radiographs.
  • Covers the most recent ARRT® content specifications and ASRT curriculum guidelines, equipping you for certification tests and practical clinical application.
  • Clinical Indications sections on positioning pages describe conditions or pathologies that may be visualized through structures or tissues in an exam or projection.
  • Radiographs with labels (radiographic overlays) pinpoint significant radiographic anatomy and landmarks to assist you in identifying anatomy and ensuring that you’ve captured the necessary diagnostic information in your images.
  • Positioning pages for projections include photographs of positioning alongside radiographic images and anatomical labels, all on a single page, along with written summaries covering clinical indications, technical factors, patient and body part positions, advised collimation field sizes, and evaluation standards.
  • NEW! Additional information on bariatric patients is provided, while outdated technology and positions have been removed.
  • NEW! Revised radiographic projections have been evaluated and recommended by orthopedists, radiologists, educators, and technologists.
  • NEW! Updated photographs showcase the latest digital technology in radiography, featuring new radiographs and images of positioning as well as new equipment.
  • NEW! The most recent ARRT content specifications and ASRT curriculum guidelines have been included to get you ready for certification exams and hands-on clinical experience.
